El programa Mary and Jack Bayramian Arts Scholars and Fellows
El programa Mary and Jack Bayramian Arts Scholars and Fellows brinda apoyo de becas a estudiantes calificados que trabajan en el Centro de Artes Escénicas Younes y Soraya Nazarian.
Este programa también ofrece pasantías que brindan a los estudiantes de CSUN experiencia laboral directa en marketing, promociones, servicios al huésped, ventas, desarrollo, administración y más. Esta experiencia brinda a los estudiantes una base sólida de habilidades que pueden usar a lo largo de sus carreras en cualquier disciplina y mejora el éxito de The Soraya.
Premio
Cada beca/beca proporciona $8,000 para la matrícula. La mitad del premio se desembolsa en el semestre de otoño y la otra mitad en el semestre de primavera. Por lo general, ocho becas se otorgan a estudiantes de pregrado o posgrado de CSUN (becarios y becarios, respectivamente) en nuestro personal y cuatro pasantías a estudiantes elegibles de CSUN.
elegibilidad
Los estudiantes que califiquen deben:

Ser un estudiante de CSUN a tiempo completo como se define en el Catálogo universitario y tener un GPA de 3.0 o superior en el momento de la solicitud y durante los semestres a los que se aplican los fondos de la beca;

Presentar una solicitud completa incluyendo, pero no limitado a un ensayo.

Además, todo el personal estudiantil de The Soraya que solicite convertirse en un becario o becario de artes bayramianas debe trabajar en la Soraya como pasante o empleado durante un mínimo de 15 horas al mes durante los semestres hacia los que se aplica la beca. Los estudiantes que reciben una beca deben trabajar un máximo de 10 horas por semana durante el período de prácticas según se define en la solicitud del programa de prácticas que se incluye a continuación.

Las pasantías bayramianas 2023-2024 se abrirán el 23 de agosto de 2023.
Becarios y becarios de artes bayramianas
Las solicitudes se abren en marzo y deben presentarse en abril de cada año. Los premios se aplican al siguiente año académico. La aplicación incluye un ensayo y está disponible para los estudiantes interesados por nuestro Director de Servicios de Audiencia.
Un panel de tres a cinco miembros, compuesto por profesores, personal y/o miembros de la comunidad, revisará las solicitudes. La Directora Ejecutiva de Soraya aprueba a los ganadores finales en base a las recomendaciones del panel.
Tenga en Cuenta: Los ganadores de la Beca de Artes Bayramianas, Becas o Pasantías son responsables de determinar cómo el premio afectará a otras fuentes de ayuda financiera, como los préstamos estudiantiles. Sobre Mary y Jack
En 2005, Mary y Jack Bayramian hicieron la mayor donación en efectivo en la historia de la universidad en ese momento, 7,3 millones de dólares, para becas estudiantiles. Una parte de esta generosa donación se utilizó para crear el Programa de Becarios y Becarios de Artes Mary y Jack Bayramian.
Después de años como ama de casa, Mary regresó a la universidad a finales de los 30 años, obteniendo una licenciatura en Arte de San Fernando Valley State College (ahora CSUN) en 1963. Luego enseñó arte en la Escuela Secundaria de San Fernando. En 1971, Mary y Jack, un técnico jubilado de una compañía telefónica, se retiraron a Laguna Beach y comenzaron a renovar y administrar bienes raíces.
Don Barsumian (fallecido en 2022), ex fideicomisario del patrimonio de Mary y Jack Bayramian y sobrino de los Bayramian, dijo que su tía y su tío “vivieron el sueño americano”. Ambos eran hijos de inmigrantes armenios que huyeron de Turquía a principios del siglo XX para escapar de la persecución. “Trabajo duro, integridad, ahorro e inversión”, agregó. “¿Sabes en los libros cómo se habla de cómo llegar de aquí para allá? Lo hicieron”.
