Camila Meza, equally prized as a vocalist, guitarist, and composer, has brought a sound full of warmth, intricacy and rhythmic clarity to the jazz scene ever since her arrival from Santiago, Chile in 2009. She is one of three exceptional artists featured in or intimate onstage jazz club series, hosted by LA’s own La Marisoul.
In a coast to coast interview between the artists, La Marisoul asks Camila Meza about her upcoming performances at The Soraya as well as what artists paved the way for her career. “This is actually the first time that I’m playing my own music in LA,” she said, “I will be performing some of my own compositions as well as songs from people that I truly adore.” Camila speaks about some of the artists that have paved the way for her career including Pat Metheny, George Benson, Björk, Ella Fitzgerald, and more!
