On February 5, 2022, The Soraya will resume regularly scheduled performances.
Our brief hiatus, consistent with CSUN and L.A. County public health measures, helped to keep safe our artists, audiences, and employees, while importantly respecting the extraordinary burden on hospitals and healthcare workers. This week’s data, however, shows that the recent Omicron spike has slowed and may imminently retreat.
At The Soraya, this good news couldn’t come at a more auspicious moment – the launch of our first ever jazz festival Jazz at Naz (Feb. 5-19), opening with Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in our Great Hall on February 5. Some of you may prefer to remain at home a while longer, so we will also be offering live streaming options for the entire Jazz at Naz festival. For more information, visit this link.
Last fall, we saw the gradual but enthusiastic return of our audience, resuming its commitment to community and creativity. Overall, The Soraya proved to be a safe place to be, with its ongoing commitment to public health protocols.
We will pick up where we left off, and look forward to seeing you soon.
Gratefully,
Introducing Jazz at Naz– The Soraya’s Annual Winter Jazz Festival
The Soraya has long been at the epicenter of Jazz in Los Angeles—from CSUN’s nationally respected Jazz Studies program to The Soraya’s stellar reputation for jazz programming. This February, we’re dialing up our investment in America’s one true original art form with our first annual, winter jazz festival: Jazz at Naz.
