Violins of Hope
History came to life with Violinist Niv Ashkenazi, the Soraya’s first Artist in Residence, as he played on a violin recovered from the Holocaust as part of a yearlong city-wide program
Los Angeles Jewish Symphony
Nochebuena is The Soraya’s annual Mexican holiday tradition, featuring long-held traditions of the Mexican culture, performed by two of California’s most revered ensembles – Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles and Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar. While public performances sell out, The Soraya is proud to offer student matinees free of charge, a highlight in the calendar of local schools.
Diavolo has toured the world and presented three premieres at The Soraya. In 2015, they were found in every corner of CSUN’s campus, in a weeklong event called “campus takeover,” welcoming CSUN students back to campus with their daredevil stunts and building anticipation for The Soraya’s upcoming season.
