Savion Glover is in a league of his own. He is part philosopher and part poet. With his new piece, SoUNDz’ SaCRoSaNcT, he might also be considered a memoirist, that is, with a memoir in movement. SoUNDz’ SaCRoSaNcT is not only a psychological portrait of his own life on stage and off but it also pays homage to his friend and mentor Gregory Hines, as well as the other great “hoofers” of the preceding generation.

| The Philadelphia Orchestra Replaced By Atlanta Symphony Orchestra For Spring 2024 California Tour
Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Philadelphia Orchestra has canceled all scheduled appearances in California in spring 2024. The Philadelphia Orchestra was scheduled to tour with pianist Haochen Zhang under the direction of its principal guest conductor Nathalie Stutzmann. Instead, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra—for which Stutzmann serves as music director—has been secured to replace The Philadelphia Orchestra for the tour, with the conductor and soloist to remain unchanged.

In a fitting finale to Étienne Gara’s two-years as The Soraya’s Artist-in-Residence, two back-to-back concerts will serve as the “album release party” for “Seasons.” The Warner Classics release is Gara’s and his innovative musical ensemble Delirium Musicum’s debut album and was recorded at The Soraya.
