Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to replace Philadelphia in March 2024

By Thor Steingraber

The universe of touring orchestras continues to seek solid footing post-pandemic. Unfortunately, the Philadelphia Orchestra is the latest to stumble, canceling its California tour originally scheduled in Spring 2024. We were so looking forward to their Soraya debut. For those who purchased the Classical Series or another package, this seems particularly disappointing, I’m sure.

But there’s great news: we’ve confirmed a replacement. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, led by Nathalie Stutzmann, will join us. Yes – the same conductor, but with a new orchestra! It’s a coup. Stutzmann is the Music Director of the world-class ensemble from Atlanta, and only one of two women in the United States to hold such a post. When Philadelphia canceled, she sprang into action and squeezed the dates into their busy calendar. Witnessing her lead her own orchestra, especially under the condition of her heroic “save,” will be a triumph.

There will be some changes in repertoire as well as a change in date: Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will perform on Saturday, March 9, 2024—two days after the original date. If this new date does not work for you, let us know. Otherwise, no need to do anything, because if we don’t hear from you, we’ll simply move your tickets to the new date with the same seats. Either way, there will be no impact on your subscriptions or package, as discounts and benefits are constant.

Please join us on March 9, 2024 for an auspicious debut – Nathalie Stutzmann leads the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Gratefully,
