Director Selects: Ballet BC and "Bolero X" at The Soraya

Israeli choreographer Shahar Binyamini became obsessed with Ravel’s Boléro, first in a rehearsal studio in Seoul, South Korea and eventually with Ballet BC in Vancouver, British Columbia. The result was BOLERO X, a powerful and wildly popular work that has traveled around the world and comes to The Soraya this fall on Nov. 15. The Ballet BC troupe will be reinforced with dancers from USC’s Glorya Kaufman School of Dance.
In this video interview Shahar is very thoughtful about his creative process and also briefly reflects about being an artist in Israel in the current moment.
