The Soraya has been “under construction” for the past couple of months. Well, actually, our website TheSoraya.org has been under construction. But honestly, it’s not so different. Building a website for an organization like ours is a massive undertaking. While my weekly Director’s Selects email is almost always about an artist, I’m taking the liberty this week to plug the new site and ask you to spend some time exploring it. You might typically visit to buy tickets on one of the artist pages (now called “What’s On”), and while I’d love nothing more than for you to buy more tickets (insert wink), I think you’ll find so much more in the other sections, especially “Place and Purpose” and “Community.”
Honestly, The Soraya’s story is a story of thousands of people – artists, audiences, students, and more. The website is vivid in depicting what an exceptional place this is, and what a human place it is too. Thanks for being one of those people, and thank you for allowing me to shake it up this week – instead of featuring an artist, I’m featuring a work of art. That’s what the new website is, a work of art.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be adding more to the new site, so if you have feedback, we’d be happy to hear it. Send any feedback in an email to TheSoraya-Marketing@csun.edu.
Gratefully,
