Glover is the world’s foremost hoofer four decades in the making, from Broadway’s “Bring in ‘da Noise/Bring in ‘da Funk,” to his childhood appearances on Sesame Street with his mentor Gregory Hines. In his third Soraya performance, the Tony-winning dance legend invites you on a journey where he honors his mentors and shares his own personal story. Glover believes his gift is to manifest language through tap. For his new show, he shares the story-telling with two actors and three musicians, evoking a narrative in which he is also a character “playing himself, playing Savion Glover.” It’s not the Savion Glover you expect; it’s the Savion Glover he’s ready to introduce.
