The 2013 Cliburn gold medalist made an auspicious Soraya debut in 2016, a concert with extended ovations and one that many remember as one of the most emotional they had ever witnessed. He returns to The Soraya’s intimate onstage setting with a program spanning several centuries, from Handel and Liszt to the living genius Thomas Adès. Kholodenko contributes to The Soraya’s survey of Beethoven’s works with the melodic Sonata No. 27 in E minor.

“Kholodenko exudes a sense of excitement that comes straight out of his personality…He played with such precipitous muscularity and high spirits… [with a] delicate and wistful side to his artistry that was utterly charming.” —New York Classical Review
