Tyne Daly in Jerry Herman's DEAR WORLD
Produced by Suzi Dietz
Directed by David Lee
Musical Director Darryl Archibald
VPAC original
Realizing her longtime dream at VPAC, Tony and Emmy-winning actress Tyne Daly steps into the role of mad Countess Aurelia in Jerry Herman's musical DEAR WORLD. Daly follows in the footsteps of Angela Lansbury who originated the role on Broadway and will lead a cast of thirteen performers, accompanied by a live 25 piece orchestra and a chorus of 16 singers. Herman, best known for his Broadway triumphs Mame and Hello, Dolly! created the musical’s magnificent and evocative score that has led to cult following over the years. Primetime Emmy-winner and director David Lee and veteran producer Suzi Dietz bring Herman and Daly together for a one-night concert rendition of this hidden gem.
