Director Selects: Latin Grammy-nominated Leonardo Aguilar's return to The Soraya

Dear Friend,

We often say that Los Angeles is the entertainment capital of the world. Those words are, perhaps, truer than the average Angeleno may realize. Tucked away in canyons , winding hillside roads, and neighborhoods throughout the region are artists of every sort, many of whom are busy creating work on a global scale. 

The Aguilar family fit that bill. They are, on one hand, our neighbors here in the Valley. On the other hand, they are leaders in Mexican and Mexican-American music and culture, dominant in the field for three generations and more than a half century. We’ve hosted Ángela and Leonardo Aguilar in seasons past, both teenagers at the time. We are honored to have Leonardo back, this time fronting the renowned Mariachi Herencia de México. 

In the video above, Leonardo pauses during his busy schedule, long enough to reflect on his upcoming concert at The Soraya on Sept. 26.
