The October 30 concert with violinist Ray Chen is completely sold out. Due to the intimate setting of The Soraya’s chamber music format, there are no available seats. This is a credit to the growing popularity of our chamber concerts as well as the success of our Membership program, as Members have priority access to these concerts. Unfortunately Mr. Chen’s busy schedule did not permit adding another performance. We encourage you to join us for the New York Philharmonic String Quartet on April 1, 2026.

Ray Chen is known for his charisma and engaging performances. Born in Taiwan and raised in Australia, he started playing the violin at the age of 4. When he was still a teenager, he launched his career with major orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. Chen’s recordings under major labels, such as Sony Classical, have brought him critical acclaim.
His combination of skill, charisma, and outreach has made Chen one of the most influential violinists of his generation. Beyond concert halls, he actively reaches younger audiences through social media, where he shares educational and humorous content about the violin.
Chen plays on the 1714 “Dolphin” Stradivarius, previously owned by Jascha Heifetz.
