Director Selects: "Existencia," an exploration of human resilience

Next month, The Soraya will premiere one of its most important and spectacular productions – Existencia, which will be created and performed by Diavolo, one of Los Angeles’ most long-standing and admired performance troupes. Opening night will be January 17, exactly 30 years after the Northridge earthquake.

Existencia is an exploration of human resilience in the face of disaster, using dance, acrobatics, music, and stage spectacle to share emotional themes and an uplifting story. Much like the journey of the CSUN campus and surrounding communities, the loss and trauma of disaster turns to the important task of rebuilding, and in doing so, emerging stronger and better.
