Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 2 Brahms Symphony No. 4 in E minor
A beloved Los Angeles institution for more than three decades, Esa-Pekka Salonen is now the Music Director of San Francisco Symphony, but continues to make the Southland his home- away-from-home, as head of the Negaunee Conducting Program at the Colburn School. He returns to The Soraya for the fourth time leading Brahms Symphony No. 4 which premiered in 1885, a piece described by many experts as being inspired by and closely related to Beethoven’s symphonies.
